Curcas Oil N.V. is investing in the development of our “Jatropha Indonesia” program to help build Indonesia into one of the leading global commercial centers of Jatropha seed cultivation and processing.
The government of Indonesia has made the development of the biofuels industry into a high priority venture, though the creation of subsidy and farmer support programs such as Jatropha Indonesia.
Through Jatropha Indonesia, Curcas Oil will support these government initiatives by bringing together the financing, seed selection, cultivation, collection and processing expertise required to create a sustainable and profitable biofuel industry based on Jatropha oil. Jatropha Indonesia will function as one of Curcas Oil N.V.’s main investment vehicles to link the international finance and equity markets with the on-the-ground capabilities and know-how in Indonesia to develop a strong working partnership.
Lastly, Jatropha Indonesia will emphasize close coordination with the local Indonesian farmers to support their planting, farming and harvesting of the Jatropha seeds and to ensure that the farmers fairly share in the rewards and benefits of the Jatropha biofuel industry. At every step in the business chain, Jatropha Indonesia will speed the development of a strong and vibrant Jatropha commercial infrastructure in Indonesia that will boost the local economies and enhance global fuel resources.
